I am going to be listing these promises and proving through out the bible alone, using the New King James Version, to debunk these and prove that it is wrong. This is a major tradition within the Catholic Church. It is purposely going against what it taught within the scripture and the teachings of Christ. But yet they claim that they abide by the teachings, but after reading this, you will come to see that they do not.
I found this and I couldn't believe my eyes so I used the intelligence that God gave me and did some research on this. If you're catholic, you might get offended, sorry, but the truth must come out. I will do this one by one and explain as I go along.
1. " Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces".
First off, why should we serve Mary? Who gave us the authority to serve her? She was blessed to have been chosen to give physical birth to Jesus but other than that, she didn't play a big role in the bible. We are only to serve God. That's it.
2. "I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary".
Again, there is no biblical authority to do this. Nowhere in scripture does it say that Mary had or has any special powers from God to do anything like this. This is not the same as saying that we have angels watching over us, the difference being we don't have to say a prayer for that to happen.
3. " The rosary will be a powerful armor against hell. It will destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies" There are several things wrong here but I will only point out a few for times sake. A prayer in itself is no armor at all against hell, as it is your faith that saves you. You make a choice whether or not to sin, so a prayer will not cause you to sin or not to sin. No one has the power to decrease sin for you. You decrease your own sin.
4. "It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means"
Prayer does not cause good works and if anyone thinks that it does, please explain it. Saying a prayer does not automatically give you "abundant mercy". Anyone can say the words of a prayer.
5. "Those who recommend themselves to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish".
WOW! There is a lot wrong with this one as well. This completely goes against what Jesus taught and said. John 3:16 'For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life'. No one, Mary included, can save us from perishing. Only God can do that. Even a 3rd grader that goes to church knows that, unless he's catholic!
6. "Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune.God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by unprovided death;if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life"
Again, only God can save us. We are only to pray to God. It is not possible to go through life without misfortunes. Bad stuff happens. No one is worthy of eternal life. No one. Christ took our punishment(for the punishment of all sin is death). We are saved through faith, not because you "worked" for it. That is absurd.
7. "Whoever shall have true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the church"
What does this mean? I cant find the answer to this anywhere.
8. "Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plentitude of His graces;at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise"
I have to wonder where they get this from. Merits aka works. Works do not save you. They are good to do but works do not get you into heaven, faith does. This is saying that you have to work to get into heaven. That is not what Jesus taught.
9." I shall deliver you from 'purgatory' those who have not been devoted to the rosary"
The bible doesn't even support the idea of purgatory. It does not. Sorry. No where does it talk about going to a place to be punished and become pure for the sins you committed. That is saying that the sacrifice Jesus gave was not enough.
10. "The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven"
Again with works and merits.
11. "You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary"
This is putting Mary above Jesus. Jesus tells us that anything we ask in His name, we will be given. Where in the scriptures does it support this or anyone other than God being able to answer prayers? It is a slap in the face to Jesus.
12. "All who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their neccesities"
Where is this statement supported?
13. "I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death"
There is only ONE mediator and that is Jesus Christ. There is no support that we are to pray to the dead to pray for us. Its fine to ask someone to pray for you on earth but Mary cannot answer your prayers. There isn't even any indication that she can hear your prayers. There is also no support that Mary had any special powers.
14. "All who recite the rosary are my sons and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ." So, no sisters or daughters? The bible only says that she will be blessed among women.
15. "Devotion to my rosary is a great sign of predestination"
First off, a prayer made of one man with no biblical authority? I don't think so. You say your own prayers of course but its not biblical to take a personal prayer and make it fact to the world and base it off of dogmas. So in conclusion, this is a bunch of bull. Catholics are good people but they are misguided. They tend to use the Catechism over the bible which does not have equal authority. I have been to mass and it is beautiful but its not what God and Jesus wanted. If you are to really study and look into yourself and compare what is in the Catechism and what the bible says, you will see the differences. Even though the Catechism does have scriptural references, it is not equal.
